Laura Leal is an artist from Cali, Colombia. She graduated in 2019 from fine arts at the Instituto Departamental de Bellas Artes.
Her artwork reflects her exploration of the body, as well as the obstructionist social conducts that structure it. Through the research on intimacy and intimate gestures, uses the body, its sounds, representations, and absences as an act of subversion.
By using different techniques (video, photography, installation, performance, painting) she tries to make her views come to life as small personal demonstrations of resistance. It’s in a sense a way to express discontent and how she questions some social constructs.
